1998 SP Authentic Tony Gwynn 5 x 7 Game Used Jersey Swatch Redemption. Excellent condition & one of only 125 produced for the 1998 UDA Trade Card redemption program. Seeded at a rate of one in every 291 packs, or approximately 2 per case, the 1998 SP Authentic “Trade Cards” entitled the bearer to receive one of various Upper Deck Authenticated items. There were 15 different Trade Cards, 5 of which won UDA autographed baseballs, 6 of which were good for oversized game-used jersey cards, and the final 4 realized one of several different pieces of Ken Griffey Jr. A full quarter of a century later, most of these items have either been lost or forgotten or were never redeemed in the first place. Here is an excellent example of the Tony Gwynn oversized game used jersey redemption, limited to just 125 copies produced and appearing in excellent overall condition with a hardly visible wrinkle and indention to the left of Tony’s face. Not only is it an extremely rare and esthetically pleasing item that harkens back to the very height of the insert-crazed late 1990s, but it also ranks among the earliest game-used baseball cards ever produced.
